Dr. Crocker Weighs in: Deaths in Hot Cars Can be Prevented

It seems we cannot make it through a summer without hearing a heart wrenching story about a child passing away in a hot car. Each time I come across this type of story, I cannot help but cry. I also cannot help but think how tragic it is, and how it seems that in this day and age we just need to slow down!

Today Dr. Crocker, the Chief of Emergency Medicine of Dell Children's Hospital of the Seton Family of Hospitals weighed in on this ongoing, yet preventable issue.

I Hold You.

It's been a long time. 2 years is a long time. 717 days have passed since Owen entered our lives. He's come such a long way. Owen turns 2 in just a few weeks, and it's amazing to think how much he has changed since I brought him home from the Seton Medical Center Austin NICU in August 2008.

Delivery Day

In life, there are those moments we want to be perfect. For me, one of those moments was the birth day of my second child. I had dreamed of a transcendent series of events that would lead to her arrival. I would go into labor spontaneously, in the comfort of my own home.

Moms, Take It Easy!

Now that I’m a mother, I feel like I’m constantly berating myself. Why can’t our house be cleaner? Shouldn’t I be feeding Paloma a variety of foods (instead of just carrots and applesauce)? Why can’t I cook more often? Then, we wouldn’t have to eat out all the time, saving money and calories. I could go on.
